Normal Hexane is used as a solvent in the extraction of vegetable oils from cotttonseed, peanuts, copra, and other vegetable materials. It is also used in rubber cements as it is virtually free of aromatics. It is also used as a selective and efficient diluent during the polymerisation process in the manufacture of polyethylene and other polymers and resins.They are also common constituents of gasoline and glues used for shoes, leather products, and roofing. Additionally, it is used as a cleansing agent for shoe, furniture and textile manufacturing.
